For the Love of Courgette: White Lies & getting 4yo to eat her veg ...

4 year old won’t eat her courgette. I should be pleased as she wolfs her broccoli, carrots and cauliflower down but she refuses to eat the courgette.

“I’ll have a taste.” She says. She takes a tiny nibble and her face screws up as though I’ve forced her to eat a lemon ... or a brussel sprout.

“You’ll be able to run fast if you eat your vegetables all up.” I say.

Her face lights up. She picks up the 2 slices of courgette and pops them both into her mouth and swallows them with no fuss.

“Look at me, Mummy! Look at me!” She’s running circuits of the living room, little legs pumping. “Look how fast I’ve got!”

My heart swells with love.

  2. I wish that worked on 20-something-year-old boyfriends who refuse to eat any veggies other than peas and carrots!
